Directions to UW Seattle - Hitchcock Hall Room 320
MeadoWatch training is right around the corner! We will be meeting in Hitchcock Hall, Room 320 Wednesday June 10th from 7-9pm.We will provide you with the respective data sheets, a species ID and site map pamphlet and a volunteer letter to allow you to enter the park for free. Feel free to bring a pen and paper to take additional notes. We will be covering some scientific background, how to collect data and how to identify our 10 focal species. If you are a returning volunteer, we will have an updated program with results from the last two years. Also, if you would like to camp at the Historic Longmire Campground, we will have a sign up sheet available. Here are some directions to help you find your way.
To get to UW:
To get to the University of Washington Seattle, take I-5 to exit 169 and drive east along NE 45th St and turn right onto 15th Ave NE. The University will be on your left.
Here is a map to all the parking lots on campus, (http://www.washington.edu/static/media/campus-and-vicinity.pdf) If you know the area well, feel free to park where ever you would like but I would recommend parking in the South Campus parking area labeled S1 (K17 on the map grid). Drive south on 15th Ave NE, go straight through the intersection with Pacific Ave NE and take a left at the stop sign onto NE Boat Street which continues on as Columbia Rd. Enter through Gate 6, pay for a parking pass and park where the attendant directs you.
To get to Hitchcock 320 from South Campus parking area:
The University of Washington is notoriously hard to navigate, I recommend printing out these directions and printing out a campus map (http://www.washington.edu/static/media/campus-and-vicinity.pdf) UW is a big campus, be sure to leave enough time to navigate!
If you are traveling by bus, the 71, 72 and 73 all take you from downtown to the University of WA. All routes that serve the UW can be found here: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/schedules/neighborhoods.aspIf you have not already, please fill in your hike dates on the online calendar (http://www.meadowatch.org/sign-up---reflection-lakes.html). This will allow us to fill holes as the trainings progress. Please email me if you have any questions.
If you cannot find the building or you are lost, call me at (253) 370-7658.

- To get to Hitchcock Hall (uw.edu/maps/?hck) from the South Campus parking area, walk back along NE Columbia Rd the way you came in.
- Once you reach the parking gatehouse and a row of 12 low decorative pillars on the right side of the road, keep right (following the building, not the road)
- Continue along the building and follow the sidewalk as it veers right and continue up the stairs. The brick building directly in front of you is Hitchcock Hall.
- Enter the building and take the stairs to the 3rd floor where you will find Hitchcock 320.
- In case those doors are locked, walk through the plaza and take a right, then take your next left and continue up the stairs directly in front of you. Walk straight along the walkway and continue up the next set of stairs in front of you.
- At the top of the stairs, take a sharp left and follow the walkway to the 3rd floor entrance to the building which will be unlocked. Once inside, take a left and the room is on your right.
